Body Mass Index (BMI) is a way to classify your weight. It is calculated using your weight and height. There are accepted ranges that define a healthy BMI. However, it is possible for there to be exceptions to the BMI rules. For example, an athlete may fall into the overweight BMI range because he or she has high percentage of muscle.
