Supplements May Help Diet Effort

Both men and women who took multivitamin and mineral supplements had lower body weight and fat mass, according to a two-part study published in the British Journal of Nutrition.

The study indicating that supplementation could lead to appetite reduction and weight loss was led by a researcher at Laval University in Quebec, with collaboration from researchers at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center and the University of Ottawa.

The study also showed that multivitamin and mineral supplements reduced appetite in both men and women and that obese women who took multivitamins were less hungry than those who didn’t.
