Who’s Doing the 2?

Everyone from actors and musicians to athletes and entrepreneurs has been eating right and moving more … and we found them.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana recruited “real people” from all over our state who have made a commitment to healthy living, and we asked them to show the state how to Do the 2.

New Orleans
As expected, New Orleans brought creative expressions of moving more. Chef Duke Lociero did some “heavy lifting,” musician Jeremy Davenport jazzed it up and Mike Karney taught the local kids some great plays. Plus, Entergy CEO Rod West showed us his real “power” walk.

Baton Rouge
In Baton Rouge, Mayor Kip Holden showed his support for a healthy city. Personal trainer Allie Kjellsten taught us to crunch, not munch then we “kicked” around some ideas with the Baton Rouge Capitals soccer team. Chef John Folse stirred up healthy recipes, and actor Jamie Wax “hammed” it up. We even had some four-legged friends in on the act including the famous Raisin’ Cane (and two-legged owner Todd Graves).

Shreveport
and North Louisiana
After a day of travel and a little rest, the crew had two more days of filming, fun and a little foolishness in Shreveport. The Alexandria Aces mascot “flew” into town for a few pitches with former LSU baseball star Warren Morris.

Local celebrity Dr. Talbot showed the “younguns” that moving more keeps you young at heart … even when you’re 92! Monroe Mayor Mayo moved more, and even some royalty stopped by as Miss Louisiana USA and Miss Teen Louisiana USA showed what it really takes to be a winner.

Everyone can do the 2!
All the celebrities inspired regular locals to join in on the act as well. Gymnasts and swimmers, aspiring young chefs and dancers, construction workers and firemen … everyone wanted to Do the 2! Look for these familiar faces this spring and summer on Louisiana 2 Step commercials everywhere to see ways that you can Do the 2 … too!
